The International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) was founded in 1968 as a Swiss not-for-profit educational foundation. The original aim of the programme was to provide an international pre-university qualification for children of mobile families. The Organisation has vastly evolved since then; today, IB programmes are offered to 500 000 students aged 3-19 in public and private institutions in 120 countries. This community's main purpose is to facilitate discussion between IB students from all across LiveJournal. Membership is open to all who are interested in the IB and relevant issues.
